The course in detail.

km 0 · Start

Stift Spital am Pyhrn

At daybreak, participants set off in front of the abbey. Past the museum „Between Heaven and Earth", which commemorates Spital-born high-altitude mountaineer Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, the route heads towards Windischgarsten.

ca. km 9 · Aid station

Marktplatz Windischgarsten

First aid station in the village centre of Windischgarsten. Cheering from spectators, then on towards the Wurbauerkogel.

ca. km 11 · Aid station

Wurbauerkogel panorama tower

Climb up the Wurbauerkogel with a first panoramic view over the entire region. Aid station at the panorama tower.

ca. km 21 · Aid station

Hanslalm

In the middle of the alpine pasture region above Rosenau. Continue via Dörflmoaralm and the alpine meadows towards Hengstpass.

ca. km 24 · Aid station

Hengstpass

Major aid station at the Hengstpass hut cluster including Zickerreith. This is also the finish of the Challenge distance and a great point to cheer on Ultra participants.

ca. km 26 · Landmark

Egglalm

Small alm in the Hengstpaß area. Transition to the southern side and on towards Singerskogl.

ca. km 35 · Aid station

Singerskogl

Mountain inn of the Hallhuber family. A striking point with classic alm atmosphere before the route climbs steeply again.

ca. km 38 · Aid station

Gowilalm

One of the most striking points along the route. Refreshment at the alm with food, beverages and overnight options, plus sensational views over the entire valley.

ca. km 42 · Aid station

Hofalm

Mountain hut with food, beverages and overnight options. Alpine section with views of Spital am Pyhrn and the Sengsengebirge. Shortly after Hofalm, the highest point of the route is reached at around 1,386 metres.

ca. km 44 · Aid station

Rohrauerhaus

Classic Alpine Club hut below the Großer Pyhrgas. Last major aid station before the descent.

ca. km 46 · Landmark

Bosruckhütte

Well-known visitor magnet at the transition from the alpine region to the descent to Spital am Pyhrn.

km 52 · Finish

Stift Spital am Pyhrn

From the Bosruckhütte the route leads back down to the centre of Spital am Pyhrn, where the loop ends in front of the abbey.

Aid Stations

Catering along the course.

Regional clubs, mountain huts and volunteer helpers provide all participants with drinks, snacks, energy bars and regional products at several aid stations along the course. Some stations also offer warm and cold food. We recommend carrying enough fluids and a personal energy reserve as well.
