Existing Trails
The course uses exclusively existing hiking and forestry trails. No new routes, no additional intervention in the landscape. Sensitive areas are deliberately considered in planning.
Gentle tourism in harmony with nature. Nature experience combined with responsible action.
The KalkAlpenMarsch consciously sees itself as an event in the spirit of gentle and sustainable tourism. The path should leave traces — in memories and in the region. But not in nature.
The course uses exclusively existing hiking and forestry trails. No new routes, no additional intervention in the landscape. Sensitive areas are deliberately considered in planning.
Permanent signage is made of environmentally friendly hemp material. Bib numbers, cups and materials are resource-conserving and reusable wherever possible.
At aid stations, regional products are deliberately served. Catering follows sustainable criteria and the shortest possible routes.
Clearly marked waste stations will be set up along the course. Outside these areas, strict no-littering applies. Throwing waste in nature is not tolerated.
The KalkAlpenMarsch is not an event for its own sake. It is a tool to secure regional value creation, sustainably safeguard jobs in tourism, gastronomy and services and create perspectives for coming generations.
Through overnight stays, gastronomy, retail and regional offerings, value flows back directly. In addition, 20% of the entry fee is specifically passed on to local clubs.
We ask all participants, if possible, to use public transport or carpools for arrival and departure. Windischgarsten is conveniently connected to the Austrian rail network via the Pyhrnbahn.
Together, we make a contribution to a sustainable event in the spirit of gentle tourism.
