Partners & Region

The KalkAlpenMarsch is supported by partners who know and love the region — from the Nationalpark Kalkalpen to huts, clubs and regional businesses.

Main Partners

Two strong partners for the region.

The KalkAlpenMarsch is supported by two key regional partners: the Nationalpark Kalkalpen and 360° Alpenland (Alpenland Tourismus GmbH). Both stand for what makes our event unique — an exceptional natural landscape and a region that takes care of it.

Nationalpark Kalkalpen

The Nationalpark Kalkalpen is Austria’s largest contiguous forest national park and part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage „Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe".

It forms the backdrop of our course and supports the event as a main partner, in particular regarding visitor management, environmental education and respectful interaction with the sensitive forest wilderness.

360° Alpenland

Alpenland Tourismus GmbH

360° Alpenland is the official tourism board of our region, bringing together the Pyhrn-Priel communities into one of Upper Austria’s most diverse outdoor destinations.

As a main partner, 360° Alpenland supports the event, coordinates connections to hotels and local businesses, and helps us turn the KalkAlpenMarsch into genuine regional value.

Alpine Club

Two sections, one mountain-sports community.

The Austrian Alpine Club sections of Spital am Pyhrn and Windischgarsten shape our region far beyond the trails we run on. Together they stand for mountain sports in all their facets, for a lived commitment to nature and environmental protection, for vibrant youth work, and for volunteering that has carried mountain life through generations.

Alpenverein Spital am Pyhrn & Windischgarsten

Two sections · One shared mountain spirit · Austrian Alpine Club

Both sections embody the full breadth of what the Alpine Club stands for. Hiking, mountaineering, climbing and ski touring at every level, family programmes and kids' groups, training for ski tourers and climbers, lived environmental protection in the spirit of the Club's role as „advocate of the Alps", and voluntary engagement that has carried the region for generations. Together the two sections look after key trail sections around the Pyhrgas massif, Windischgarsten, Rosenau and towards the Nationalpark Kalkalpen — many kilometres that make our course possible in the first place.

A particular highlight is the Climbing & Bouldering Centre Windischgarsten, run by the Windischgarsten section as a meeting point for climbers of every level — from a child's first holds to ambitious training for experienced climbers.

We are guests in a region carried by the engagement of its Alpine Club sections. Mountain sports passed on from generation to generation, a lived contribution to protecting nature and the environment, vibrant work with young people, and the quiet ongoing care of trails and huts throughout the year, voluntary, in their own free time. We are deeply grateful to have partners like these by our side.
